Operating from our 18,000 sq. ft. hangar at Oxford Airport and our line station at London Biggin Hill, we deliver trusted maintenance solutions including base maintenance, line support, and mobile-response AOG services.

JMI was recently awarded TFE731 Line Maintenance Plus and APU Line Authorised Channel Partner status by Honeywell Aerospace and is developing its Field Service Team.

The Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Service Engineer to join our Honeywell Field Service team based in the Hampshire area. This is an exciting opportunity to work on Honeywell aircraft engines and engine components, providing technical support to operators and maintenance organisations across the UK and internationally.

Reporting to the Field Service Manager, you will be responsible for carrying out on-wing inspections, repairs, troubleshooting, testing, and technical support activities while ensuring all work is completed in accordance with approved technical data and applicable airworthiness requirements. This role requires regular domestic and international travel, often at short notice, supporting customers wherever they operate.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out on-wing inspections, repairs, testing, and maintenance of Honeywell aircraft engines and engine components in accordance with approved technical data.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical faults, identifying effective solutions to minimise aircraft downtime.
• Act as the primary technical liaison between aircraft operators, Maintenance Repair Organisations (MROs), and Honeywell OEM representatives.
• Ensure all maintenance activities are completed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage OEM warranty claims and provide supporting technical documentation where required.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK and internationally to support customer requirements, often at short notice.
• Maintain and control stock inventory, calibrated tooling, and specialist equipment.
• Produce accurate maintenance reports and technical documentation following each customer visit.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers through professional technical support and excellent customer service.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote best engineering practices at all times.

The Successful Candidate

• Completed a recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or possess equivalent Aeronautical Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, ONC, HNC or equivalent).
• Good knowledge of aircraft engines and aircraft systems.
• Understanding of UK CAA and EASA aviation regulations and airworthiness requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical manuals, maintenance data, and engineering publications.
• Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
• Good mechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools, power tools, and calibrated precision measuring equipment.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Full UK driving license.
• Valid UK passport.

What You’ll Need

• Experience working on Honeywell TFE731, HTF7000 and/or Honeywell APU products.
• Familiarity with Dassault, Hawker, or Learjet aircraft platforms.
• Previous OEM engine type training or equivalent engine maintenance experience.
• Borescope or videoscope inspection experience.
• Previous experience working in an aviation field service environment.
• Experience of stock inventory management and tooling control.
